Project Development
I have been working on web projects for the majority of my professional career, and bring a tremendous amount of dedication to my work. The projects I work on generally fall into one of the four categories below, though any given project will generally span several disciplines.
Web Development
I am highly proficient in XHTML and CSS. I have experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Dojo and MooTools, and have worked on a number of projects involving AJAX. I’m also able to quickly prototype fairly complex user scenarios and sites in PHP, building off of my early programming experiences in Pascal, Perl and C.
Design (UI/UX)
I consider users at every stage of the design process. I have extensive experience in stakeholder interviews and requirements generation, information architecture and wireframing, and visual layout and design. I also create PHP-based prototypes for rapid iteration via live one-on-one user testing.
Copywriting
I began writing for the web over ten years ago, and have created copy for dozens of websites. My experience spans branding and naming, marketing and sales writing (both for print and for the web), and technical copy. At one of my first jobs out of school, I personally authored a 50-page software product manual. I’ve also managed a team of writers, and have experience with popular web content management software, such as Interwoven TeamSite and WordPress.
Project Management
I like to get things done on time, and bring this discipline to everything I do. I’ve managed large software projects (both desktop and web-based), and have extensive experience in software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodology. I love people, and my unique blend of marketing, design, and engineering experience gives me an ability to communicate with just about anyone.
